Joint Meeting of the Shadow Financial Regulatory Committees
About This Event

The annual joint meeting of the Shadow Financial Regulatory Committees of the United States, European Union, Japan, Latin America, and Asia—representing twenty-five developed and developing countries—will be held at AEI from November 13 to 15. The topic for discussion this year is the liberalization of trade in financial services. During meetings on November 13 and 14, the members will discuss this issue and develop a joint policy statement on trade liberalization. On Monday, November 15, the group has scheduled a panel discussion to consider the joint statement, to which the public and press are invited. The Shadow groups in each area or country are made up of publicly recognized independent experts and scholars on the financial services industry, including banking, insurance, and securities. The panel discussion will be followed immediately by a press briefing and then by a luncheon.
