Tyler Cowen is a professor of economics at George Mason University and the Center for the Study of Public Choice. He is also the director of both the James Buchanan Center and the Mercatus Center at George Mason University. His publications include the books In Praise of Commercial Culture (Harvard University Press, 1998) and Creative Destruction: How Globalization is Changing the World's Cultures (Princeton University Press, 2002), as well as articles in the Journal of Cultural Economics, Forbes, and Reason. In his Bradley Lecture, Mr. Cowen will address opposition to globalization, the prospects for American cultural diplomacy, and the current UNESCO Convention on Cultural Diversity.
