About This Event

AEI’s Election Watch series, which began in 1982, is the longest-running election program in Washington. The 2008 presidential election campaign has been full of unexpected twists and turns with more in store. At this event, Election Watch panelists will discuss results of the Super Tuesday brawl, the mid-Atlantic Listen to Audio

primaries, and the remaining contests. In addition, participants will look at the candidates’ performances, polling data on the presidential race, and how congressional and gubernatorial elections are shaping up. The event will be followed by a day-long conference on election demographics entitled “The Future of Red, Blue, and Purple America: 2008 and Beyond.”

The charge for this session is $60.
The charge for the ten-session series is $400.

  • Michael Barone, a political analyst and journalist, studies politics, American government, and campaigns and elections. The principal coauthor of the annual Almanac of American Politics (National Journal Group), he has written many books on American politics and history. Barone is also a senior political analyst for the Washington Examiner.

In addition, Ms. Bowman has studied and spoken about the evolution of American politics because of key demographic and geographic changes. She has often lectured on the role of think tanks in the United States and writes a weekly column for Forbes.com.
