About This Event
The American Action Forum and American Enterprise Institute invite you to participate in a conversation on accountability as it relates to the reauthorization of the Elementary and Secondary Education Act. Participants will discuss the appropriate role for the federal government when it comes to transparency, holding schools accountable and crafting interventions. What can the federal government usefully do? What roles must states and school districts play? What responsibilities must lie with parents, and how can policymakers help equip them with essential tools and information? How does Republican legislation to fix No Child Left Behind compare with Obama's proposals, particularly his waivers plan? Join Frederick M. Hess of AEI, Cynthia Brown of the Center for American Progress and the Fordham Institute’s Michael Petrilli as they tackle these questions and more on Capitol Hill, Wednesday, October 12.
