BiographyIoana M. Petrescu is a National Research Initiative Fellow at AEI. Ms. Petrescu conducts research on economic sanctions, especially the deterrent effect of sanctions, as well as their impact on health. She is also interested in assessing the effectiveness of tax policies in countries with high tax evasion. She has written on topics ranging from the effects of income taxation on entrepreneurship to the impact of financial sector quality on tax revenue. Her fields of specialization are health, public economics, development economics, international political economy, and international economics. [CV]
