Small Business Tax Cut? AEI Expert Aparna Mathur Available

The House of Representatives is set to consider the Small Business Tax Cut Act today, so I wanted to draw your attention to the testimony offered yesterday by American Enterprise Institute (AEI) economist Aparna Mathur on the importance of small businesses to the US economy.

Mathur assesses the impact that higher tax rates, rising health care costs, and regulatory uncertainly will have on small business entrepreneurs:

"To get the economy on the path to sustainable growth, we need to understand that raising taxes and health care costs on these businesses is likely to further slow hiring and expansion, and is the wrong policy prescription for these times."

Read the whole testimony here.

Aparna Mathur is an AEI economist who has served as consultant to the World Bank. She is available for interviews at amathur@aei.org.
