The Fix over at the Washington Post—a political staple in this election year—has a little bit of election analysis out for us the night after the president of the United States slow jammed the news with Jimmy Fallon. The Fix pronounces the meme of the race: Barack Obama is cool. Mitt Romney is not.
It was something of a momentous weekend in Arab League history. For the first time ever, the League imposed serious sanctions on one of its own and not for anything related to Israel. Rather, the Arab League voted to impose sanctions on Bashar al-Assad’s regime in Syria for its continued campaign of repression and murder.

Here's what success in Iraq looks like: democratic elections, sectarian comity, independence in foreign policy, al Qaeda stymied, cooperating with the United States, and self sufficiency. Iraq didn't look completely like that in early 2011, but it was headed in the right direction.
