With tax day around the corner, the American Enterprise Institute (AEI) today releases its annual report on Americans' opinions about taxes compiled by public opinion expert Karlyn Bowman. This AEI public opinion study looks at attitudes since the first questions were asked in the mid-1930s to today.

In the lead up to the 4th of July, a new study details the views Americans hold about our country, the actions Americans consider patriotic, and opinions on institutions such as the military.

Attitudes on the environment have shifted significantly since 2010. While Obama continues to receive high marks on environmental issues, his marks on energy are more negative. Americans said they would prioritize economic growth over the environment even if it means the environment suffers to some extent.

This study looks at opinions on American patriotism, attitudes toward the federal government, military service, and more.

This study includes up-to-date trends and opinions on the party best able to handle environmental issues, the environment as a voting issue, recent presidential administrations and environmental policy, and views on the importance, causes, and potential that can be taken regarding global warming.
